Arai’s ultimate off-road helmet

The MX-V EVO evolved from the legendary VX-3 and years of Arai’s competition experience can be found in its ultimate MX, Enduro and off-road use helmet. And, while fashions in helmet appearance come and go quickly, the MX-V’s organic R75 shell design exists for the same reasons it is in all Arai helmets: to create a smooth, round shell shape that maintains its integral strength.

The absence of exaggerated edges or protrusions is not a lack of imagination or creativity on Arai’s part. It’s because the shape of the helmet works to improve protection. It’s also the reason that the MX-V is the latest Arai to receive ECE R22-06 approval without significant changes.

FEATURES:

• Outer Shell: PB-CLC2: Arai’s Peripherally Belted Complex Laminate Construction greatly increases shell strength and flexibility while maintaining low weight and a lower centre of gravity. Positioned across the top of the eye port, this band contributes to the use of a thinner EPS liner which greatly enhances the upward field of view. A specially designed “mechanically expanded fibre mat”, sandwiched between the inner and outer layers of Arai’s proprietary Super Fibre Laminates, is used to reinforce and bond these two Super Fibre layers without adding significant weight to the helmet. The latest “Z-Mixture” resins increases material adhesion requiring less resin for a stronger bond between materials for a thinner and lighter shell.
• Innovative peak: The MX-V EVO’s peak forces air into the forehead vent ports for cooling while at the same time using multiple relief-ports to reduce helmet lifting at higher speeds.
• MX-V EVO Ventilation: Easy to clean diffusers create a strong venturi vacuum at the rear with a centre top vent for increased airflow. Under-peak air intakes collect and direct cool air into the helmet. An inner chin vent shutter prevents debris coming into the helmet in dusty riding conditions. Lower side vents also help with hot air extraction for a cooler ride.

• Emergency Release System (ERS) Allows easier access to an injured rider. Minimising the risk of additional injury.
• Breath guard works in conjunction with the dual-pivot® chin vent to better direct fresh air to the inside surface of the shield while at the same time directing hot breath down and away from the inside surface of the shield.
• Dirt removal: Elongated and rounded peak helps protect the rider from mud or other objects.
